Zunheboto
The name Zunheboto was created by putting together two words of the Sumi dialect i.e ‘Zunhebo’ meaning a flowering shrub having white leaves and sponge-like ears; and ‘To,’ which translates to ‘On top of the hills.

Summer season remains moderately warm but the rain intervenes and brings the temperature down. The highest temperature recorded here has been 22 degrees Celsius during the summer.
Though it rains for 9 months in Zunheboto, the heaviest rainfall can be seen during the months of July and August. It is advisable to avoid this season for planning a visit.
The months of December and January are the coldest with the mercury dipping down to 10 Degree Celsius, though, this part of the year is the best time to visit Zunheboto. Carrying heavy woollens is advisable.
