According to Ayurveda the pains are caused by the aggravation of Vata (air) dosha. Arthritis is caused by the accumulation of Ama (toxic by-product of improper digestion) and aggravation of Vata.
The Ama deposits at the sites which are weaker in the body.
After deposition in the joints, there is a aggravation of Vata which results in Amavata or arthritis.
Ayurvedic medicines can completely alleviate pain in people suffering with arthritis. An Ayurvedic doctor prescribes a good diet with herbal remedies and exercises.
