Tilak Ali Museum Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri has been an abode of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, celebrated legends who was an Indian nationalist, teacher, social reformer, and lawyer. The place where he was born is now converted into a museum, now known as the Tilak Ali Museum. Easily approachable and effortlessly noticeable because of Bal Gangadhar Tilak's statue right in the front, the museum features many exhibits in the form of his photographers and paintings. All these paintings and pictures of Bal Gangadhar Tilak gives one glimpses into his struggle for freedom. This museum in Ratnagiri is maintained by the Archeological Department of India.

THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND

Since Ratnagiri is a coastal town, so missing a visit to the beach shouldn't be missed. The closest on to the museum is Mirkarwada Beach, which also features a Ratnadurg fort. At the beach, one can also see the auction at the fish market. Also there is a Ganpatipule Beach, but it is little far away from the museum, approximately 23 kilometers.

All year around. The museum remains open on all the days except monday, and public and gazetted holidays from 09:00 AM to 06:30 PM

To reach the museum, one can take a cab or bus from anywhere in the city.
