Nand Bhavan Nandgaon

Built on the same spot where once the residence of Nand Maharaja stands, Nanda Bhavan, also touted as Nandagram Temple, is one of the highly revered temples in Nandgaon. Located atop of Nandishwar Hill, the popular temple traces its history from the 19th-century. It was built by Raja Rupa Singh and is the only shrine where the foster parents (Nand and Yashoda) of Lord Krishna are worshipped. Inside the temple complex, there is located the idols of Lord Krishna and Balaram. Whereas, on the right and left side of them, the idols of Yashoda and Nanda are placed. Next to the idol of Yashoda, there is located the images of Radha, Rohini (Lord Balaram’s mother) and Revathi (Lord Balaram’s wife). Along with that, the images of Sudama and Madhumanhala (friends of Lord Krishna) are placed next to Nanda Maharaj.

Opening / Closing Timings

The temple of Nandagram remains open throughout the year. One can visit the temple any day from morning to evening.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Nand Bhavan is the winter season which commences in the month of October. The season is all about pleasant weather condition that remains in favour of tourism. The season ends in the month of March.
