KALAMEGAPERUMAL TEMPLE

One of the prominent Hindu religious shrines in Madurai, the Kalamegaperumal Temple is located in Melur, the temple's presiding deity happens to be Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the 108 Divyadesams and here Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Neelamegha Perumal and Lakshmi, his consort as Tirukannapura Nayagi. More than 2000 years'-old the temple is yet another example of the Dravidian style of architecture.
