The Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Museum is a brainchild of honorable Inspector General of Police B. Sandhya IPS. He always wanted general people to see the history of the Police Department in Kerala and pay attention to the efforts made by them over the years. The star attraction of the museum is the Martyr's Gallery, which includes guns, bullets, machines, weapons, police arms, ammunitions, used during the 18th and 19th century. All these artifacts are kept in an old mansion with four courtyards, one of which display investigation information regarding fingerprints, DNA tests, snaps of police dogs, and medals.
Another popular attraction of this museum is the natural calamity section, which houses the heartbreaking photographs of Tsunami in Kollam and the images of Malanada Fire works incident. The museum opens on all day from 9 A.M to 6 P.M, except on Sundays.
